Pastor's Pen

February 2006
WOW!! its been a year.
As you have been made aware, we have a baby. Laieton is his name and he is now
not an infant, he is 10 months old. Thank you for your patience's and your
prayers. Laieton came to us with some physical difficulties and there were
some touchy situations and a couple of quite serious episodes. I write to
inform you that God has greatly blessed this young man and our family. Laieton
is quite healthy now and seems to be on tract for a healthy future.
We are looking forward
to the opportunity to continue in ministry with you good and faithful fokes
'out there.' Maybe a word about our ministry with therapeutic foster care
would be in order. My wife Vonda and I began with regular foster care in 1980.
We had begun serving with the United Methodist Church that same year at the
Byromville/Lily Charge in Dooly County. We have two birth children Leslie Ann
and Randall Scott. They are now grown and live out on their own. We love
children and love to help people and this seemed like a very good way to do
both. My wife is now the primary care giver and I support her and her work
with medically fragile children. We have had many children, something over 50,
through the years. We have had children from birth to 19 years old. We have
had children from a few days to a few years. We began therapeutic care in 1995
and we are presently affiliated with the Mentor of Macon agency. We presently
have two children in the parsonage with us now. Laieton is now a very normal
little boy, he laughs and plays and is sitting up and we are sure that he will
be walking very soon. God is so good. I am not very good about telling things
about my family and so I have been brief. If you wish more info on us use the
'comments' section on the web site.
I will be right back
with an article for the February Pastors Pen. Again thank you and may God
bless you.
