The youth went to Epworth by the Sea for their summer trip. We started the
weekend with a sleep-over
at Buckhorn Church. Darren entertained the youth with games while Melinda cooked
supper. She makes a wonderful sloppy joe. Later that night, Darren lead the
youth in honoring the people who had a vision in starting this church and then
in a call to find their own vision from God. Eric lead the youth in some
wonderful praise songs to end the first night.
Ruby made a great breakfast for the youth and then it was off to Epworth. We went to the beach, which gave us the privilege of being with Tina the first time she saw the ocean. That night, Silver Cord opened with a great set of songs. Spiritfield went next and gave a great show. Darren closed the night out with a lesson on the treasure of Christ and the treasure of you. Eric's anointed singing closed the night out as numerous people surrendered something in their lives to Jesus. It was very touching as people passing by, stopped in to see what all the excitement was about.
We stopped by the pier for communion on Sunday morning and finished the afternoon off at the water park on Jekyll Island. Thanks to the church, who supported this trip. You are helping to lead the next generation to the feet of Jesus.
